CHC Sports Medicine Clinic is a full-functioning sports clinic that provides timely and
comprehensive medical care to athletes and sports enthusiasts. The focus is to promote a
healthy community through the treatment and prevention of sports injuries and illness. Athletes
of all ages and ability levels from the weekend warrior to the professional athlete are welcomed.
Close affiliation with athletic trainers, coaches, and physical therapists are encouraged.

Overview:

· The CHC Sports Medicine Clinic is open on Tuesday evenings from 5-8pm. Special
arrangements may be made for acute injuries at other times.

· The Clinic is located on the 4th Floor of the Health Center, within the Family Medicine Clinic.

· Sports medicine staff includes sports medicine physicians, osteopathic physicians, and a
clinical psychologist.

· X-ray, MRI, cardiac rehabilitation, and physical therapy facilities are located on site.

· Close referral network is available for further subspecialty care.

· Appointments can be made by calling 978-878-8300.

· Most major insurers (including Mass Health and Medicare) are accepted. Free Care is
available for patients without insurance who meet certain guidelines.

Services:

· Treatment of acute sports injuries including sprains, strains, fractures, and contusions.

· Treatment of overuse injuries including stress fractures, tendonitis, and shin splints.

· Casting, splinting, and bracing.

· Treatment of medical problems related to exercise including diabetes, hypertension, asthma,
and heat illness.

· Treatment of concussions, stingers, burners, and other neurologic conditions related to
exercise.

· Evaluation of the psychological aspects of exercise, performance, and competition within the
context of healthy living.

· Pre-participation physicals and injury prevention screening.

· Exercise prescription including individuals with chronic medical conditions.

· Home rehabilitation programs for acute and chronic injuries.

· Women's health and injury prevention, including exercise for pregnant mothers.

· Nutrition and supplement counseling.

· Timely referrals as needed to surgical and sub-specialists experiences in treating athletes.
